I'm having an issue with my recently installed sways/endlinks. I keep getting this fairly loud "clunk" when the weight of the vehicle shifts while driving, taking turns, etc.
I got under the car today to take a look at it, and the driver side rear endlink bushing was slowly being pulled out of its place. I managed to tap it back into place, and reassemble everything.
Regrettably, I don't have pictures, but I'll try to get some if simply putting everything back together didn't fix the problem.

Does anyone know what could cause this? Or what I can do to fix it?


edit: I went back out and looked at it. The rear endlinks are both tilted towards the INSIDE of the car. It looks as if the swaybars are pushing them in slightly. Could this be part of the problem?

This is the rear endlink, passenger side. Notice how the endlink is pressed inward slightly.

Does it just happen when you turn one way or the other? If so, you might want to tighten the hell out of them. After I did my clutch it was doing that, then I tightened the driver's side front endlink bolts, and it was fine.

I haven't noticed a pattern with a certain direction, no. I'll try to pay more attention to it though.

The instructions that were included said to bolt down the 30lbs/ft. Tightening them down wouldn't have adverse affects on anything, would it?

Unless you tighten it SO much that it torques it out of place and breaks.....not that I can think of.

Try tightening it up a bit, go for a drive, and see if it improves. Lather, rinse, repeat, until desired effect is reached.

Stack washers and make the endlinks verticle. just use generic stainless, and make sure the head of the bolt can't pull through the bushings. The clunk you are hearing is probably the bolt hitting the endlink without the bushing in it. Don't torque the bolts until the car is completely under its own weight, so put it on the ground to torque it, so it won't bind up. But yeah, just use washers to get the endlink straight up and down, and that should solve this issue.

And the KB's have a metal sleeve that goes inside of the bushing, so your just going to bottom out on that before doing any damage to the urethane...

That's what I was thinking, I remembered Matt doing the same on his. But I don't think that will work in my case. It looks as if BOTH endlinks are being pushing inwards, towards the center of the car by the sway, almost like the bar is too "short." (However, I don't think that's the case. Washers can't correct that problem.

And I put everything on while the car was on ramps, so the suspension being loaded isn't an issue.

The washers should fix it. The swaybar isn't too short i can guaren-damn-tee that haha... If you can get some pictures of it, for sure do. Another thing is are they mounted on the wrong side of the bar?

The sway bar is too short or the endlink is too thick. Call Kartboy and ask them what they have to say about it. If they say tough ****, cut the urethane and the metal sleeve about a quarter of and inch so that it is properly aligned and torque it back down... But they will want to see the pictures and will probably help you out...

wait. Try to find another one of the sheaths thats inside of the bushing thats the right length and just compress the urethane...

The urethane is already flush with the sleeve/sheath, compressing it won't do anything at this point.

Shorter sheath + shorter urethane due to compression vs cutting it = Properly aligned endlink with less likelihood to pop out because the urethane is compressed around the main part of the endlink...

Just my thought. I like to take a hands-on approach to things like this though...

Hmm. Hands on would be nice. I'd just like to fix this and get it over with, without forking over more money. I don't think I have the tools or the know how to do it without messing things up more.
