Legally you can NOT remove the OEM catalytic converters on the car unless they are damaged or not working properly.
Only cat backs are legal, and thats only a hand full of them. As they must have a DOT/EPA testing done.

Just putting it out there.

You are correct some parts of the country do not have emission testing. But if you ever get pulled over and a cop does a Visual inspection, you have to show him where the catalytic converter is on the car. If you get smart with him, he can request for a backup unit to bring a CO detector. At that point if you see that you have no catalyst on your car, they will impound your car, and take you to federal prison. As it is a federal crime to mess with emission control devices. As the EPA is part of the Feds.

The odds of what I stated are slim to none, but its not fun to be in that position. I have had a police officer request one for my car before, but it was unavailable as it was about 80 miles away from where I was getting cited.

wow screw that noise. (knock on wood) i've been pulled over about.. 5? times between this car and the sti. i've defintiley had illegal exhaust on both cars and haven't been questioned about it.

pulled over once in park city without a cat back lol! i was installing a new exhaust and decided to drive around my neighborhood with just the dp. that didn't last long hahaha. but he didn't say a word about it i was blown away.

but all other times have been in slc or other and none have said anything about an exhuast. i also turn my car off as soon as i'm pulled over.. maybe that helps? but yeah i'd never want to get into a pissing contest with a cop. i had no idea they could do all that stuff.

We do have a cat for that system that goes in right after the main collector off the turbo. The price would be 340.00 plus tax. Its a very nice high flow piece.

...or just don't drive like a dummy. That way you don't get pulled over and never even have to worry about it. That's how I do it. haha

So I got all my parts installed and I got to the injectors and like look like they are going to be a B****. And secrets or tricks that I need to know? Is it Easier to take off the intake manifold?

Leave the manifold on. Its straight forward on pulling them off, and putting them back on. When you put them back in, make sure you have good seals and that you use KY or Vaseline to put the injectors and O rings back in. As they will slide in easier, and less of a chance for them to get damaged.
