question: I am more or less due for an oil change and also have the Lap Battle on the 31st coming up. I am trying to decide what to do as far as oil goes. I've considered these options:
1) change it next week before the race 10w-30
2) change it next week before the race 5w-30 (pretty sure I don't want to run oil this thin at the track)
3) change it next week before the race with something heavier...15w-50 (how would this effect my cold weather starting?)
4) other options I haven't thought of yet that you tell me right now

Brody runs 15w40 on the track I believe.. I think 10w30 will be fine it is just the sloshing around and oil temps getting to high..

1. oil cooler
2. bigger pan with baffels.

This is coming from good sources. :)

I think a thicker oil, change it just for the track day.. then once it is over go back to normal everyday oil like 5w30.... If you can get a oil cooler I would go that route.

I was at checkers looking at their oils...Lucas had a thick racing oil (forgot the which weight). Would that be a good one to run on Saturday?

No idea man.. To be honest ask brody, or kirill from rally sport. they know what is best for the track.. Since I am new to the whole MMP thing.

I run Mobil1 15w50 Extended Performance oil in my WRX all the time with the built motor. On my stock motor I ran Mobil1 10w30 or 10w40 for track use and street use and was fine. Also it wouldnt hurt to over fill your oil a little maybe about half a court so if you do slosh it could help out. The big right hand sweepers at miller are killers.

Bring extra oil too.
