Your wagon already looks sick man. :) But the set up you want would be pretty dope. :headbanger:

is there any way to accurately measure offset? I would like to know what offset my current wheels are so I have some sort of reference point.

Look on the backside of the wheel. It should be stamped eXX (X=Offset) I think the stock offset for 02-05 is 52mm or 53mm. I think 48mm for the 06-07.

The offset is measured from the mounting surface to the outside of the wheel.

don't have stock wheels

This is erroneous. If this were true, the higher positve offset a wheel had, the further it would stick out. Offset is measured from the mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. I know what offset is, just wondering if there's a way to measure. Since were talking about just a few millimeters, it would be hard to get an accurate measurement.

The offset should still be stamped on the backside of the wheel.

And i meant to say the offset is measured by the wheel mounting surface being XXmm from the centerline of the wheel in a direction to the outside of the wheel. I had a brain fart and that came out, haha

I test fitted some +35's today on my car. I'm a little hesitant to go for it. It looks like it will work, but I'm not positive as to whether or not I'll rub, say, in a high-G corner where I get a lot of suspension loading on one side or the other.

Take of the wheel, lay it on it's outer face, and lay a straight edge/ level over the lip. Then take a ruler or straightedge or something and measure the distance from the mounting surface to the ruler in MM. Than find the width in MM and subtract. Easy stuff lol...

I've had a 18x8 38 offset and they fit fine without coilovers and no rubbing and plenty of room. My 17x8.5's with a 43 offset and 5mm spacers so 38 offset fit with no rubbing with lots of room. Right now I have 18x8 with a 41 offset and they fit fine. I just ordered a 17x9 38 for my snow tires and I have a set of 17x9 25 offset that will fit eventually. It all depends on the wheels width with the offset and camber and suspesnion clearence. Here is a fun tool to check different wheel sizes.

There used to be a Forester owner who fit race slick 305/35/18 on an 18x10 +35 wheel. COs and fender pulled. That's serious meat.

Your camber specs, tire size and ride height are all major contributing factors. I think you should go for it though, I'm sure you can make it work with more negative camber or fender pull.
